Simple, chic and comfortable: Bérénice in Saint-Germain des Prés.

Day 1: Shop girls and shopping girls in Paris. Only three pictures ? Guess I got lost in the shops myself …

Jaqueline in Rue de Normandie, check out the back and the neon sandals

Marlène who’s working in the Isabel Marant shop in Marais, of course in Isabel Marant

Tatjana in a super cute skirt from Stella Cadente, again I love shining fabrics in the sun

nothing prettier than a sparkle in the shining sun and I love the shape of the white bag and the fact she’s wearing sandals

Paris ! I am almost ashamed to be traveling again, but I had booked this trip a long time ago and was planning to take some photos, meet some people and maybe even scout this city as a possible new hometown. Then yesterday I was totally not in the mood anymore, I just kind of wanted to settle in Berlin for a bit and on top I had another sleepness night over my other aloveisblind story, yes, a man, I will maybe tell you about someday … yadidyadi… I am here and I took a nap and I’m so happy to be in Paris :-)! The place gives me great energy right away and after my fashion vacation detox it is so exiting to see how well people dress here and it’s summer heat ! So here are some cool Parisian pictures for the weather still from FW for now …

the lemons and the views of Capri

the beauty of Ravello

Positano and the pastel buildings in Amalfi

Galeria Umberto, Naples

the Gambrinus Café in the Chiaa neighborhood

I was away for two weeks for what was intended to be a real vacation. It didn’t turn out exactly as planned, the weather was super bad and no time for the beach but it was still a very interesting and very unfashionable trip which was maybe good for a change.I was in the South of Italy in Salerno where I also took Italian lessons in the morning. It’s the perfect ‘single’ vacation and I love being able to communicate with the locals in their language (well, in my very basic Italian of course and impossible to understand the response in Napolitan dialect ;-))
I was taking the ferry along the stunning Amalfi coast and the bus at times which makes you totally sick as you take 10 curves a minute … my favorite places being Ravello (I have wedding plans for that place, don’t know yet with whom but ), Capri, yes it’s too obvious but it’s just so beautiful and chosen by me for my whoknowswhen honeymoon after the wedding in Ravello …
The most exiting part of my trip though was my last week-end in Napoli, I wish I would have known how fantastic that city is, I would have escaped Salerno much sooner.
I came there with the prejudice of garbage everywhere and having to watch your bag all the time but instead there is so much beauty to find.
I took only a few portraits in Naples on the one day I had, I really want to go back there.
Oh and don’t get me started on the food, all you want to do is eat in that country. Should you travel there anytime soon, I really recommend staying in the Bed & Breakfast
Atmosfere on Corso Umberto, it’s a perfect budget solution but also really a unique experience of Italian hospitality that you won’t find in a hotel.
So much to Italy, I will be traveling to Paris the next days and hopefully come back with some good pictures
I can’t get enough of Hanneli’s style, everything from the shoes to the varsity jacket is so well chosen and special. I’m in love with the Valentino clutch anyways, I’m mean what a nice concept to slip your hands under that studded hand-strap … and the Proenza Schouler necklace could work in so many ways, I would love it just to make my daily jeans and sweater look more interesting. Hanneli also really turned me around on ‘baby’ blue which she admits is one of her favorite colors. I don’t know many or any women that say they like ‘baby’ blue but she’s right, it’s such a flattering color !

Liz Cabral, the Fashion Director of Canadian Flare magazine: how cool is this mix of leather and lace, masculine and feminine, love this …
continuing with the print theme I love love what Dries van Noten has created for this summer, it gives me the feeling of a summer vacation and fresh air as well as a walking art exhibition and isn’t collecting fashion like collecting art anyways … at least sometimes. It’s so interesting to watch how different women wear this strong print in completely different ways, in this case the model Hanne Gaby who is the star of mixing his designs, Susie Bubble and Elisa Nalin.

today is a good day ! Even though I was woken up by my screaming neighbor again it doesn’t matter, I’m so exited. The sun is out, Marc Jacobs is in town and I will have a chance to take some pictures and the Sartorialist twittered yesterday ‘Berlin is on fire ! The expression of style is really strong here right now. …’, should I care ? honestly, it makes me kind of happy, especially since I grew up here and have a kind of ambiguous relation to the city, thinking that style-wise we cannot keep up with cities like Milan and Paris and in general elsewhere is always better. You know what: my challenge for this year will be to love Berlin again !
And here you go with some happy prints on prints, colors on colors and arm candy in my favorite combination on amazing Elisa, Viviana and Tamu ! (still not from berlin but from milano)

stepping outside the house today I couldn’t believe it, Berlin weather jumped from spring to summer overnight with almost 30 degrees ! I don’t trust it quite yet but I think it’s definitely time to put those wool coats and sweaters away in the winter box and start to get dressed more like this … I love the flirty feminine looks of stylist Stevie Dance and this dress combined with her friends Dries van Noten Pants and easy tee are just a perfect summery girlfriend combo.
